MINI JCW Named Future Classic

MINI is celebrating a major award win after the MINI John Cooper Works was named winner of the Future Classic Award at the 2026 Autocar Awards.

The award recognises cars with the character, desirability and lasting appeal to become future favourites among drivers and enthusiasts. For the MINI John Cooper Works, it is a fitting result for a model built around performance, personality and unmistakable MINI attitude.

A True Performance MINI

The MINI John Cooper Works has always stood out for its sharp handling, compact proportions and energetic driving feel. It brings together everyday usability with the kind of character that makes every journey feel more involving.

Autocar praised the MINI John Cooper Works for its hot hatch charm, trademark desirability and driving dynamics, recognising its significance in today’s performance car market.

Built With Character

In a market where many cars can feel increasingly similar, the MINI John Cooper Works continues to offer something distinctive. Its bold styling, responsive performance and motorsport-inspired feel make it a car with genuine personality.

That is exactly why this award matters. A future classic is not just about speed or specification. It is about how a car makes you feel, how memorable it is to drive and how strongly it connects with the people who own it.
